GRATITUDE CAN CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE

What do you think about your life? Are you happy or disappointed not to be where you would like to be? Remember one thing; wherever you are now, you have the ability and the power to make it the way you want. Every single day, I hear people complaining about not having or not being able to do what they want but let me tell you something, you get nowhere by complaining. In fact complaining is an expression of ungratefulness. You should learn to be more grateful for all the moment of your life.

Every single person on earth has a reason to complain as much as he or she has reasons to be grateful for their life. Do not be unnecessarily negative; think about those who are less well off than you. I once heard a very interesting story I want to share with you about a grateful man. Once upon a time there was a man who spent his time trying to add value to the world despite the fact he was not born into affluence; he was always looking to help those who seek his help and ready to come to the rescue of others in their time of need.

The man would never complain about his own life, he dedicated his life into helping others and saw it as his contribution to the world. One day, as he was going home very tired after a long day helping in a care home, he found a man stranded close to his house.  The stranger was standing in the rain next to a car; he offered to help the man he met for the first time by taking him to his house and giving him a hot drink, clothing and shelter. In the following morning, the stranger was able to call a local garage to get his car fix.

A month later as the Good Samaritan was coming back from his day late in the afternoon adding value to the world, he saw the man waiting for him in front of his house. After learning what the Samaritan does every day for others, he decided to change his life by completely renovating his house and giving him a cheque of one million. By accepting his life and focusing on helping those less fortunate than him, the Samaritan showed gratefulness and was rewarded for his attitude.

You cannot show gratitude if you are not happy with your life, you cannot be grateful if you spend your time complaining about everything. You hold the key to your happiness and only you can decide if you really want to be happy. I sometimes hear some people say that they will be happy when they are wealthy or they will be happy when they meet the right person. The truth is you have to be happy with what you have to attract what you want in your life that is why Vivian Greene said “life is not about waiting for the storm to pass….it’s about learning to dance in the rain!” Using what you have to get what you want is the secret because when you choose to focus on what is missing, you show yourself to be ungrateful for what you have.

You attitude towards life determines your level of success and, if you learn to appreciate your current circumstances you are more likely to experience and attract your heart desires into your life what you want. The more grateful you are, the more blessings you attract to keep your state of mind the way it is. Focusing on what is missing can only get you into a negative mind set but if you decide not to dwell on what is missing and are grateful for all the good you have now, you will experience more blessing  and happiness. Showing gratitude will not only change attitude, it will change your life.
