YOU ONLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT WILL SERVE YOU

There is too much information in the world today, you can get learn about anything you want on the internet and access has been made very easy by the low cost. It is easier even for children to access the information they are looking for because a high percentage of household have broadband internet. This huge opportunity has created many problems including information overload, anybody can go on the internet these days to place anything they want and if you are not careful enough, you could be learning from those who have no real knowledge about what they are discussing. The fact that it has become easier to access information has not solved the problem of its quality, you still have to use you sense of discernment to be able sift through and find the gems you are looking for in your search.

Learning is a good thing but the truth is you will not have the time to learn about anything that is why you have to be selective about what you want to learn. More importantly, you only need to learn about thing that will move you forward and causes progress in your life. If you are in the habit of watching as many program as possible because you have the time to do so, or surfing site after site because you want to use your time, you are feeding your mind with useless information that will never be of any use to you. Intelligent people are selective and conscious of the fact that their time is limited, therefore endeavour to make the best use of it by only focusing their attention on thing that will reward them. Remember that time is one of the most precious commodities you have, you cannot get back after you have lost it.

You only need to know what will serve you and make you a better and wiser person after learning. Henry Ford was challenged by an attorney in a court room about his ignorance of what was going on in the world around him at the time he was developing his business empire. He calmly replied to the man that he did not need to know everything to achieve his goals, and added that any extra information he needed outside of his sphere he could easily find ten people to answer by just pushing a button. Many people might not be aware of this but endless surfing the internet in the name of seeking information is a form of addiction, it is quite common and the reason those who are victims are still doing it is lack of awareness and the damage it causes to them in time wasting.

People don’t realise that actually spending a huge portion of their time doing something that is not going to reward them is like throwing money through the window. If you have not realised it yet let me put it to you in clearer term, you make money by trading your time, your salary is paid to you for your expertise in your job but you need the time to put your knowledge to good use so you can earn a salary. You need time to learn a valuable skill that will increase your ability to make more money, as you can see wasting your valuable time is actually wasting your money. You don’t need to know everything that happening in the world, not knowing does not make you any less valuable but spending your most precious commodity reading about the latest gossip in Hollywood, the latest political shenanigan or latest fashion will not help you achieve your goals unless it is part of your job to know about it. The only information you need to seek is anything that will help you become a better person and achieve your life purpose.
