CREATE VALUE FOR OTHERS TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL

You can never truly help others without helping yourself in the process. Most people want to know what they are going to gain, even before taking any action to help others. It is the reason they are stuck, struggling to achieve that massive success they have always dreamt about. When you understand the dynamic of this law, you will be able to take advantage of it. There are many universal laws and whether you are aware of their existence is irrelevant, they will affect you regardless. Smart people are been known to learn about these laws so they can use them to achieve their goals. The size of your success is directly related to the amount of people you have helped, this means that the more people you help the more successful you become.
If you want to be very successful, you have to create value for others, using your skills and talents. Unfortunately most people do the exact opposite; they want to be successful by cheating others as much as possible. Those who have this type of mind-set struggle a lot because they are building the foundation of their success on quick sand. The truth of the matter is you cannot steal from others, every time you cheat someone out of a deal or transaction you are doing it to yourself. There are countless examples of people who started a hugely successful business, only to go bankrupt few years later because they began deceiving their business partners. The first question you should ask yourself if you want to succeed is: How can I help as many people as possible so I can reach my goal? The idea here is to truly create good value for others so you can get what you want.
You only have to look around to see that the majority of successful people have helped thousands and sometimes millions people with their businesses or skills. The more people you help, the more money you will make with your business. Bill Gates is one of the richest men in the world because with his business Microsoft, he has given to millions of people around the world the possibility to use a computer in their own home. Because he made that possible, he has been rewarded with a fortune he won’t be able to spend in his lifetime. The same can be said about the late Steve Jobs who took the concept of the mobile to a new level in a bid to offer quality to millions who were not entirely satisfied with what was on offer.
As you can see, the more value you create for others the more rewards you get. Your challenge is to go out and identify a gap in the market, something people could be interested in buying because they want it to make their life better. It doesn’t have to be a completely new concept like in the case of Apple, Steve Jobs use an existing idea made it different and unique before offering it to the people who were looking for it. It could also be something completely new as long as you know a large enough group of people could use it to enhance their lives. Whatever your talent and skills, you can find people out there who will be willing use it for themselves. Your job is to find out how you can develop and monetize you skill and talent by making them accessible to those who are looking for it. The more value you create for others the more successful you become, the more people you help the greater your success.

DO NOT DISMISS WHAT IS DIFFERENT

Why are we sometimes wary of the things we are not used to? Should we dismiss anything that is not as we expect it to be? The answers to these two questions lie in our beliefs about us and life. Since birth, we have been raised with a specific set of values and, as we grow up we adopt a belief system about everything we know. The flaw in the upbringing of most people is that they have not been taught how to keep an open mind. We instinctively reject anything that seem out of place compare to what we know, we feel unease when faced with things that are different from the truth we are accustomed to. This reaction even though counterproductive is understandable given the fact that, we can only reason from our beliefs and any every time an information or behaviour contradicts our belief, our first reaction is to dismiss it as untrue or not plausible.

There are countless examples of people and sometimes communities dismissing information or a theory as an untrue just because it is different from what they are used to and hold to be true. More than thirty years ago, many experts argued that it was not possible for a human being to run a mile under four minutes. For a long time, this was held as truth until Roger Bannister decided to prove them wrong by running a mile under four minutes. Since that feat of human miracle, many of people have done the same proving that what is true today could be wrong tomorrow. The beliefs you were raised with as a child might not be necessary true today, either because times have changed or because they were never true at the time they were fed to you.

As an adult it is your responsibility to question you beliefs about life and constantly testing them to see if they are as useful to you today as they were relevant to you as a child. You might have an excuse that as a child you did not know any better and, had to accept what people around you including your parents were telling you. That excuse is no longer valid for an adult who has the ability to test his or her beliefs, to see if those beliefs are a hindrance to your progress or assets you have to keep.

The best policy is to always keep an open mind, never dismiss anything before first trying to see if it could add to your knowledge through learning. Life is a learning process and if you want to really grow as a person and achieve any long lasting success, you have to keep learning. The mistake you can make is limiting your knowledge by staying away from the things you don’t understand or dismissing what is in conflict we what you hold to be true. Smart people never refuse to listen and study something because it is different; they always take the time to listen to see how could benefit them.

It is understandable to dismiss something if there is a gap between the story and the evidence not because it contrary to your beliefs. Sometimes even things that are not making sense to you could still be true, it is therefore important to leave your personal beliefs aside if you want to make any objective assessment. You are entitled to have an opinion but always asked yourself if your beliefs are helping you in your choices or making you miss out on many opportunities. Remember that what is different is not always wrong; learn to keep an open mind and do not be hasty in your judgement.

YOU ONLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT WILL SERVE YOU

There is too much information in the world today, you can get learn about anything you want on the internet and access has been made very easy by the low cost. It is easier even for children to access the information they are looking for because a high percentage of household have broadband internet. This huge opportunity has created many problems including information overload, anybody can go on the internet these days to place anything they want and if you are not careful enough, you could be learning from those who have no real knowledge about what they are discussing. The fact that it has become easier to access information has not solved the problem of its quality, you still have to use you sense of discernment to be able sift through and find the gems you are looking for in your search.

Learning is a good thing but the truth is you will not have the time to learn about anything that is why you have to be selective about what you want to learn. More importantly, you only need to learn about thing that will move you forward and causes progress in your life. If you are in the habit of watching as many program as possible because you have the time to do so, or surfing site after site because you want to use your time, you are feeding your mind with useless information that will never be of any use to you. Intelligent people are selective and conscious of the fact that their time is limited, therefore endeavour to make the best use of it by only focusing their attention on thing that will reward them. Remember that time is one of the most precious commodities you have, you cannot get back after you have lost it.

You only need to know what will serve you and make you a better and wiser person after learning. Henry Ford was challenged by an attorney in a court room about his ignorance of what was going on in the world around him at the time he was developing his business empire. He calmly replied to the man that he did not need to know everything to achieve his goals, and added that any extra information he needed outside of his sphere he could easily find ten people to answer by just pushing a button. Many people might not be aware of this but endless surfing the internet in the name of seeking information is a form of addiction, it is quite common and the reason those who are victims are still doing it is lack of awareness and the damage it causes to them in time wasting.

People don’t realise that actually spending a huge portion of their time doing something that is not going to reward them is like throwing money through the window. If you have not realised it yet let me put it to you in clearer term, you make money by trading your time, your salary is paid to you for your expertise in your job but you need the time to put your knowledge to good use so you can earn a salary. You need time to learn a valuable skill that will increase your ability to make more money, as you can see wasting your valuable time is actually wasting your money. You don’t need to know everything that happening in the world, not knowing does not make you any less valuable but spending your most precious commodity reading about the latest gossip in Hollywood, the latest political shenanigan or latest fashion will not help you achieve your goals unless it is part of your job to know about it. The only information you need to seek is anything that will help you become a better person and achieve your life purpose.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING……….REALLY

Do you know what you should be doing today? What are you supposed to do in such circumstances? Are you doing things the way they should be done? These and many similar questions are thrown at you or swirl in your mind every hour of the day, depending on what you are doing or who you are listening to. This kind of conversation is quite common to many people you meet and more than acceptable for the majority of people to think like that. The problem is everybody is been programmed to think and act in a specific way by your family, your educator which is the school system and your environment including your peers. Each time you try to break rank, you are quickly brought back in line because you become a threat to the system that surround or the group you belong to.

If you want to see any evidence in action of what I am trying to explain here, begin to observe people around you from today and if you look carefully you will notice that those around you seem to behave in a more or less the same way. People within any given group will tend to speak the same way, shop at similar places, dress in a similar fashion and even have the same enemy. At the first sign of resistance of your group rule, you are isolated and made an outcast as a punishment for threatening the foundation of the group. Within every organisation or group you are forced to follow the rule or excluded for non-compliance to the rules. If you want to resist the rule of your group, you have to be prepared to accept exclusion from the group because you will not be allowed to overlook the rules while you remain an insider.

This is what you should do and similar statements are ways to keep you under the control of the group and ensure you are compliant with the rules of the group. Only the mentally strong can risk exclusion by breaking away from the group, because if you don’t have the mental resources to withstand the group pressure and accept the possibility of being left out, you will quickly fall back into line to avoid the pain of being lonely and excluded from those you consider as friends.  Few people can take that kind of risk because of the consequences attached to that action, most people would rather gladly follow the rule of their organisation or group even if they don’t agree with them. The reason most people accept to live by the rule they don’t approve of is because of fear, they are afraid of being alone and think it is easier to bury their discontent rather than challenging the group and facing exclusion.

The truth is different because it is more damaging for you to bury your objections and live a lie than risk exclusion by challenging the status quo of your group. When you make the dreadful decision to be governed by your fear instead of living a life on your terms, you become a slave or a follower. Living by other people rules without ever having any influence on the way things are will destroy your self-confidence and make you an eternal follower. You will lose your identity to be part of the group as you only exist through the group and its obligations. You can live your life on your terms if you accept the risks involved, you can free yourself from the shackles of suppose to and should if you are ready to start again. Never be afraid to challenge the rule you don’t agree with in your group if you want to live the life you deserve. The only thing you are supposed to do or should be doing is to live the life your heart desires.

DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO NOBODY

You are unique, why would you compare yourself to anybody? People are different and everyone has something different to offer, your life purpose is not the same as anyone and that is the reason accepting who you are is crucial to your fulfilment. The easier way for anyone to lead an unhappy life is to begin to compare their life to that of others. Every time you compare yourself to others, you always see your circumstances as worse than theirs. Your friends, your classmates, your neighbours, your family members and even your parents are different from you. That is something you cannot change because it is part of the mystery of life.

Once upon a time there were two couples who were very close and have been friends for years, supporting each other through the path of their daily life until one day; couple one started improving their life financially. Couple two did not take it kindly that their friends were now getting better financially and decided to do whatever was necessary to keep up with the spending of couple one. Each time couple one made an expensive buy, couple two will emulate them by mortgaging their life in debt. Couple one life kept getting better and better and because couple two could not keep up with their spending power, the relationship between the two couple lasting for almost a decade came to an abrupt stop.

This is an example of what happen when you spend your time comparing yourself to others instead of focusing on yourself and how you can make your life better. The relationship between the two couples could have gone another way if rather than allowing themselves to be control by jealousy, couple two actually approach their friends and asked for help in improving their life. If you spend your time looking at what others are doing with their life, you will not have the time to develop yourself. I am not saying that it is not a good thing to emulate those you admire, one thing is certain, those who are always comparing themselves with other quickly conclude that they are no better.

There is big difference between emulating your idol and compare yourself to other and wondering why their life is getting better while yours is going nowhere. Most people think that what they have is not good enough compare to what others have. The wife of the neighbour is more beautiful than mine, the children of my cousin are more intelligent than mine, the car of my colleague is more expensive and the house of my friend is more presentable than mine. Some people are always comparing what they have with others; they are always seeing those they are using as object of comparison as having the perfect image of what they have.

Learn to live a happy and less stressful life by focusing on what you can do to improve your life. Desist from comparing yourself with others but, learn to emulate those you admire to become a better version of you. If you enjoy the journey, the pursuit of a better life will be a source of joy and a labour of love not heartache.
