WHAT ARE YOU FEEDING YOUR MIND?

If you cannot allow rubbish in your house, why would let anything negative enter your mind? Every time you sit down to watch a program on television that promotes things going against your values, you are violating your own sanctuary. Your mind should be kept clean of all things that could corrupt it and, affect you. As a child, you have almost no control over the quality of information fed to you by your parents or family members. Those information formed part of your belief system, determined the way you think and act in your life.

As an adult, you have more control over the kind of information you are exposed to and, you can choose who you want to listen to. You should always be mindful of what you feed your mind if you want to be in control of your life. You might not be aware of how you could be affected by the type of information you are exposed in the media. You have probably noticed by now that bad news sell and at any time of the day if you switch on your news channel, turn on your radio or pick up the majority of newspapers you will most the time be confronted with bad news.

The media thrive on bad news, negative news reporting sometimes throughout the day. A lot of people would go crazy if their TV broke down and they could not watch the news for an entire day. You have been led to believe that not watching the news is almost a crime. It is also the reason why some people think that going only a day without tuning the news is missing out on something important. The TV screen is one of the most sold home furniture in the world for a reason, almost every day an improved version is created and advertised at great cost by the manufacturers.

Besides your beloved television, another form of medium well used to brainwash you into accepting the negativity that has become the norm is the newspaper. Some of them have become expert in using their headline to spread bad news and, affect the opinion and the mind of their unsuspecting and loyal readers. It very easy today to see people arguing over an article they read in the press, without taking the time to research and verify the authenticity of the information on display.

The media is used as a very powerful weapon, especially in politic to either build up a future leader or destroy one. It is common knowledge that in most countries, Media Corporation and their owners play an important role in shaping the future of various political parties by manipulating their readership into following them in a specific direction. Elections are won and lost with the use the press, leaders are known to courting the press to polish their image and sell their ideas to their readers.

It is therefore very important to make sure that you are a casualty of the media, one of their victims in their quest to constantly feed their followers ideas pertaining to their agenda. Your awareness of who you listen to and what you read is extremely important if you want to be in control of what you let into your mind. It is your mind, do not allow it to be invaded by information susceptible to turn you into the mouthpiece of negativity. Your mind is a precious sanctuary and you should jealously guard it against anything that is not congruent with your beliefs. With so much information and technology available, you can take the time to research every piece of information you suspect to further from the truth. Never rely on the mainstream media to be your only source of information. They use you to spread bad news hoping that you will trust them and not question what you watch or read. It is your responsibility to make sure that you only let into your mind the kind of information that is in harmony with your beliefs and will facilitate your learning and growth. As you want your house to have the best furniture, you should endeavour to only feed your mind with the best and most useful information available.
